The sushi deli one block from Convoy was great, fresh and large portions. Prices are fantastic. It was a little over 10 for a caterpillar roll. A dragon roll was 14 and the bento boxes which come with miso soup and a drink were 11 m-f till 2:30pm. The prices are crazy good and the food was great. Parking can be tricky, they have no parking lot just street parking available so be ready to walk a bit. Price, value and over all good food, we will be going back!

We got seated quickly on a Saturday night, and service was great! They came just often enough to be convenient and not annoying. I spotted this place because I've never seen such cheap nigiri in San Diego, especially with this rating, and we were not disappointed. The salmon nigiri was really good (and pretty big), and the yellowtail was solid (though not amazing). The albacore was also pretty good. I was also impressed by the rolls. Usually I find the rolls to be a little lower quality in most places, but these were really tasty! They also didn't fall apart, which was nice. We got the Bestseller combo, and the fish, shrimp, and crab were all very fresh.

The best sushi I’ve ever had! We came back here three times to eat again. The prices are very reasonable, and the place is highly recommended!

Highly recommended, just know it gets very busy and it will take time to get your food. Suggest looking at the menu before arriving and ordering as soon as you are seated. Dropped a star on service as the server was switched on us and we had no idea who was taking care of our table. In the end, it was a good visit.

I go here about once or twice a year and look very what you get for the money. I had sushi and Miso soup. They were both good. I went with a friend and we didn’t have to wait long for service and the food to be prepared. I would recommend the back indoor area over the front. I would recommend the sushi sampler platter. It opened my eyes to rolls I typically wouldn’t try.

Sushi Deli is a San Diego staple for quick, quality Japanese. The ramen, bento boxes, and rolls are always on point. They also have a full bar and a great beer selection. I really enjoy the vegetarian roll options, especially the Bee Hive. Their miso soup is also very good. It’s a laid back, straightforward Japanese spot that is great for low-key dates, family lunches, and even small parties. There is a decent amount of parking in the lot next to the restaurant, and the street is usually fairly open as well. Mitsuwa and Bookoff are less than a block away, if you’d like to visit a great Japanese market and used book/music store before or after your visit. Common Theory, a bar/restaurant with an immense beer selection, is not too far either. Update: Came to Suhsi Deli 3 today with my friend for dinner. We had the Moe roll, bee hive roll, fried gyoza, monkey brains, and avocado tempura. Everything was super tasty. The wait wasn’t bad either for the dinner rush—maybe 10 minutes. Everything was well-presented and tasted pretty good, despite them being slammed with customers. Sushi Deli 3 is, for its price point, still a solid sushi option in mid-northern San Diego.

Stopped in for a late lunch and was impressed with both the food and the service. We started with avocado tempura, crab lagoon and the monkey brains, all were delicious. The monkey brains have spicy tuna with crab wrapped around it and then tempura. We tried a number of rolls and liked them all. Our waitress helped us decide and everything was great. All the staff were very helpful.
